What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
Feathr uses Multi-factor authentication (MFA) to protect your login and account information. MFA is an industry standard method of securing access to your online accounts by requiring not just a username and password to access an account, but a second method as well.
Why does Feathr use Multi-Factor Authentication?
Digital security is an evolving science, and the technologies used to keep information secure online evolve along with bad actors seeking to illegally access that information. With leaks, breaches, and stolen identity becoming more common, a simple username and password is no longer secure enough to ensure your organization's valuable information remains accessible only to approved users.
MFA adds a layer of security to your account access by requiring you to enter a one-time password that is sent to your email when you log in to Feathr, in addition to your existing login credentials.
How do I log in to Feathr using Multi-Factor Authentication?
The login.feathr.co home screen
After entering your login credentials, you will be prompted to enter your verification code. See below for details.
- Visit login.feathr.co to log in to your account.
- Enter your existing username and password.
- A message will appear asking for a one-time password, which has been emailed to the email address connected to your Feathr login.
- Check your email inbox for an email with the subject line "Login code for Feathr"
- Open the email and copy the code. This is time-sensitive; you have 10 minutes before the code expires.
- Return to login.feathr.co and paste the code into the prompt.
After Entering your One-time Password
After entering your one-time password, you will have the option to tell Feathr to remember your computer or not. If you tell it to remember your computer, you will not have to use MFA for the next 30 days.
IMPORTANT: do not tell Feathr to remember your computer if you are using a shared or public device to access your Feathr account.
I Didn't get the MFA Email. Now What?
If you don't receive the MFA within a couple of minutes, use the button on login.feathr.co that prompts Feathr to resend the email. If you still do not receive the email, check your spam folder or contact Feathr support at support@feathr.co.
