Creatopy is a suite of tools that allows anyone to build beautiful and impactful creatives. Feathr provides the Creatopy (formerly Bannersnack) editor directly in our app. This feature makes it easy to design creatives and use them immediately marketing campaigns.
If you do not wish to use the Creatopy editor in Feathr, and instead would like to use Creatopy natively, read on for more information on exporting your creatives from Creatopy.
Once you are happy with your creative, you must export it from Creatopy. Creatopy exports banner assets or ad tags.
Exporting banner assets
This is the easiest way to get your banners from Creatopy to Feathr. Creatopy creatives can be exported as static banners in the following formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP, HTML5, AMP, MP4. GIF, PDF. Feathr accepts:
- JPG
- PNG
- GIF
- MP4/video file formats.
Read more about creative size and format requirement in our Ad Creative Specifications guide. To download the assets, clicks the blue, top-right Download button and select the desired file format. Go to the Feathr app and upload the creative image or video to a campaign.
Exporting banners as Ad Tags
Exporting Ad Tags is for advanced users and knowledge of HTML and Javascript is required. If you wish to export a creative as an Ad Tag, click the green, top-right Ad Server button (the megaphone icon). Using this method, Creatopy will supply a snippet of HTML that will display the creative. The creative assets are hosted on Creatopy.
In the box that appears, use the following configuration.
- Toggle Use ClickTag to "on" and leave the URL input blank.
- Add "TheTradeDesk" to the Ad Network selection.
- Click Download.
- Click Download as CSV
By selecting TheTradeDesk, the resultant download will include some features that would allow you to use this ad directly on that platform. Similarly, choosing "Google" would include some features that would allow you to use the ad on Google. It does not matter what Ad Network you select.
CSV File
Open the CSV file, find the Tag column, and double click in the cell containing the HTML code. Select all the contents of the cell and copy it. If you do not select the contents, you may copy an escaped version of the creative. An escaped version will not have the correct formatting. An escaped version will have doubled quotation marks, for example, ""hash"": ""odw3y3y"". Ensure that the quotation marks are not doubled.
Transfer HTML to Feathr
Create an Ad Tag creative in Feathr. Paste the HTML code into the Ad Tag editor.
- Replace the clickTag value with the Feathr click tracking macro "@FEATHR_CLICK@".
- Add the Feathr view tracking macro at the bottom, "@FEATHR_TRACK@".
- All other fields can be left as-is.
- Ensure the dimensions are as expected and save.
Your Ad Tag is now ready for use in your campaign! Please reach out to the Feathr Support Team if you need assistance with any of the steps in this article.
