Want to run a campaign like one you've already built? You don't have to start over. Duplicating a campaign makes a draft clone with all of the original's settings. You can put the clone in the same Project or send it to a different one.
Note: This article covers duplicating (cloning) a campaign. To move an existing campaign to a different Project without cloning it, see How to Move Campaigns Between Projects. To reuse an email template in another Project, see How to save an Email Template to use in any Project.

When to Duplicate a Campaign
Duplicating saves time any time you want a campaign that's similar to one you already have. For example, you might want to:
- Run a campaign again. Copy last year's event or year-end giving campaign and update the dates.
- Try a variation. Clone a campaign and change just one thing, like the audience or the creatives.
- Reuse a campaign in another Project. Clone a campaign that worked well into a new event or program's Project.
- Pick up where a stopped campaign left off. Stopped ad campaigns can't be republished, so duplicate the campaign and publish the clone instead.
You can duplicate any campaign type, whether it's a draft, stopped, or published.
How to Duplicate a Campaign
You can duplicate a campaign from three places:
- Marketing table: In the Options column, click the three vertical dots on the campaign's row.
- Flight: Click the three vertical dots on the campaign's card. Duplicate is in the Campaign section of the menu.
- Campaign report: Click the ellipsis ( ... ) in the top right of the report. Duplicate is in the Campaign section of the menu.
- Find the campaign you want to clone, and open its options menu.
- Select Duplicate.
- The Duplicate Campaign window opens. Under Project, the campaign's current Project is already selected. Leave it as is to make the clone in the same Project.
- Check the campaign summary to make sure you're cloning the right one. You'll always see the Campaign name and Type. Other details depend on the campaign type. Email campaigns show their Goals, for example, and ad campaigns can show their Audience, Filters, and Duration.
- Click Duplicate.
Duplicating usually takes a few minutes. You can keep working in Feathr while it runs, and you'll get a notification when your clone is ready.
Your clone is saved as a draft named after the original, with "(Clone)" at the end. For example, duplicating "Cart Abandonment" makes "Cart Abandonment (Clone)." If you duplicate the same campaign again, the clones are numbered: "Cart Abandonment (Clone 2)," and so on. You can rename your clone while you edit it.
Duplicating a campaign that's in a Flight? When the clone stays in the same Project, it's added to the same Flight, right next to the original.
Duplicating to a Different Project
The steps are the same. Just choose a different Project in the Duplicate Campaign window:
- Open the campaign's options menu (the three vertical dots), and select Duplicate.
- Under Project, click the dropdown and select the Project you want the clone to go to. You can also type a Project's name to search the list.
- Click Duplicate.
When the clone is ready, you'll find it as a draft in the Project you picked. The original campaign stays where it was, unchanged.
Tip: The Project list shows only the Projects you have access to. If you don't see the Project you need, ask an admin on your Feathr account.
What Gets Copied
Your clone includes all of the original campaign's settings, including:
- Audience and targeting, including Groups and filters
- Creatives
- Goals and conversion tracking
- Flight (when the clone stays in the same Project)
- Budget
- Email content, such as the template, subject line, and preview text
What doesn't come with it:
- Results. Your clone starts with a fresh, empty report. The original campaign's stats stay with the original.
- Published status. Your clone is always a draft, so it won't run until you publish it.
After You Duplicate: Review and Publish
Your clone won't run until you publish it, so take a minute to look it over first:
- Open the clone from your campaign table.
- Rename the campaign so it's easy to tell apart from the original.
- Check the start and end dates. Your clone may not keep the original's dates, so set the dates you want before you publish.
- Review your audience, creatives, budget, and goals, and change anything you need.
- Publish when you're ready.
FAQ
Does duplicating a campaign change the original? No. The original campaign stays exactly as it was, including its status and report.
Will my clone start running right away? No. Clones are always saved as drafts. Nothing runs until you publish it.
How is duplicating different from moving a campaign? Duplicating makes a new draft clone and leaves the original where it is. Moving relocates the original campaign itself, and it only works for drafts and finished campaigns that have been fully billed and paid for. Learn more about moving campaigns.
Can I duplicate Invites, Landing Page, or Monetization campaigns? Yes. Every campaign type can be duplicated, including the types that can't be moved between Projects.
I can't find my clone. Where did it go? Duplication can take a few minutes. Wait for the notification, then check the Project you selected in the Duplicate Campaign window. Your clone is named after the original, with "(Clone)" at the end. If the original was in a Flight, look there too.
Can I duplicate several campaigns at once? No. You duplicate campaigns one at a time.
