In this article, you will learn how to add individual Partners or Partner lists to associate them with Invites or Monetization Campaigns. You can add one Partner at a time, or import a spreadsheet. This step can now also be initiated from within an Invites Campaign.
Option 1: Add Individual Partner
You will typically choose this option when adding Partners for Monetization campaigns, or when you only have a few Invites Partners to add at once. Navigate to the Partners tab of your Project, and click 'Add Partner.' The only required fields are Name and Email Address, but Monetization Partners must also have a valid logo and website URL. When finished, click 'Save Changes' in the top right corner.
Option 2: Import List
This option allows you to add longer lists of Partners at once, and it makes organizing your data easier.
Format your list
Start by collecting your Partner data in a spreadsheet. Dedicate each column to a different keyword you want to record in Feathr.
Your spreadsheet should look something like the example below, with each column header identifying which keyword is listed below it. Save your spreadsheet as an utf8-encoded .csv or .xlsx file (example template attached). Learn more about keywords (also known as merge tags) here.
Import your list
To import your Partner data file at the Project level, navigate to your Project and select 'Partners' from the left hand menu, then click 'Import Partners'.
To Import Partners directly within an Invites Campaign, Click +Import Partners in the Partners step of the campaign. This will prompt you to save the campaign as a draft to complete the next steps.
Configure your Import
1. Upload
Name the Import: The name you give your import will be used to create a unique tag to identify the group of users in this upload.
Add Tags (Optional, but recommended)
Add an additional tag to identify the people in this import with a broader group, like which Invite Campaign they're associated with. When you are importing a large list of partners, we recommend using a Tag to simplify adding them to your Invites campaign.
Upload your File
Select your data file from your computer before moving on to the next step. Remember, the file must be in either .xlsx, utf8-encoded, or .csv format.
2. Map Your Data
Map the column headers of your file to the information they should be associated with in Feathr. This step ensures your partners' information displays properly on their Invite materials. (You can skip this if you are only adding Partners for Monetization campaigns). If you upload a partner twice, Feathr will attempt to find the partner by External ID if provided, then next by Name. If an existing partner is found, their information will be updated. (See question below: "Why isn't Email used to find existing Partners during an Import?")
3. Review
Review your imported data and confirm that all tags have been added, and you've selected the correct file.
6. Finish
Click 'Import Partners' to complete the Partner Import. You should see a popup modal to confirm your data was imported. You will receive an email notification when your Partner data has finished processing.
Now that you have Partners, you can include them in an Invites Campaign or launch a Monetization Campaign on their behalf!
Common Questions
I just imported a Partner List, but I don't see my Partners. Where are they?
After Partners are imported they take a few minutes to process to make sure they display properly in the app. Depending on how many partners you've just imported it could take up to 10 minutes. You should receive an email letting you know when they've finished processing. If more than 30 minutes have passed and you still don't see your Partners, please contact support@feathr.co.
Why can't I select one of my Partners for a Monetization campaign?
Monetization campaigns require a Partner profile with a valid logo and website URL.
Why isn't Email used to find existing Partners during an Import?
Often Partners will have multiple or changing email contacts depending on how many points of contact exist between you and your Partner. External ID is the most reliable way to determine who a Partner is and to maintain their information. Note: that this is different from Person Imports where Email is used to find existing Person records.
