Before you can run Facebook Ad Campaigns via Feathr, you will have to integrate your Feathr and Facebook accounts. This simple process ensures that the apps communicate properly and gives Feathr access and permission to manage Facebook campaigns for your business account. The integration process is outlined in this article.
Watch the following short video to get an idea of the process, then follow along using the more comprehensive body of the article.
1. Ensure Facebook Page & Business Admin Access
In order for the integration to work successfully, the Facebook login you intend to use must be both a page admin and business admin for any Facebook Pages (and their associated Meta business accounts) you are connecting to Feathr.
So before you begin, confirm your admin access for your organization's Page and Business Manager.
If you are not currently an admin, here are instructions for requesting access. (link navigates to Facebook's Help Center)
If you are an admin and need to grant additional users admin access, here are instructions. (link navigates to Facebook's Help Center)
2. Connect Facebook to Feathr
Once you have verified your admin status on Facebook, start by logging in to Feathr and navigating to Profile & Settings at the bottom left menu, select Integrations, then Facebook. It will look like this:
On the next page, check the permissions box to give Feathr ads and page management access. (This only gives Feathr advertiser access to your Page. It will not give Feathr permission to make posts, change settings, or do anything other than manage Ad Campaigns.) Then select Log in with Facebook.
This will open a new pop-up prompting you to log in to Facebook. Be sure to log in using the account you verified as an admin above. If you do not see the Facebook login pop-up, check your browser for pop-up blockers.
Enter your password and follow the next prompts to complete the connection. Do not modify any choices under "choose what you allow."
When you have completed the login prompts, you will be brought back to the Feathr page, now displaying your Facebook account integration:
The table displays the Facebook Pages your login is connected to, as well as the parent business manager account name for each, if applicable. It also displays your admin status for both. If your Page Admin or Business Admin status displays a red X, you cannot complete the integration and must request admin status on Facebook.
If your admin columns show a green check mark, the final step is to click "grant" on the Page you intend to use for Ad Campaigns. Once you have done so, your Feathr account will be ready to create, manage, and run Facebook Campaigns for that Page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don't know who the Facebook Page admin is?
While Facebook Pages are not required to identify their admin, some will do so on the About tab of the Page, under Additional Contact Info. Using the Message tool to send a message to the Page will also directly contact the Page admin. If you work for the company or organization that manages the Facebook Page, you can also ask around to find out who the admin is.
I am an admin for the Facebook Page, but Feathr's Facebook Integrations table doesn't show me as one. What's wrong?
If you are certain you have been granted admin access to your organization's Page and Business Manager but you do not see that status in the Feathr's Integrations table, it is likely you are unintentionally logged in to a different Facebook account. Double check the email address you've logged in to Facebook with to ensure it's the same user account that has been granted admin access to your organization's Page.
The Feathr Integrations table recognizes me as a Page admin, but not a Business Admin (or vice versa). What's wrong?
Facebook uses a tiered system that places Business Manager in the top tier and Pages beneath Business Manager, making Business Manager the "parent." This means a single Business Manager account can manage multiple individual pages. Depending on the hierarchy of your particular organization, you may be an admin of one but not the other. Ask other Page admins who runs the Business Manager for your organization. It could be a parent company, a marketing agency, or a web design agency. You must be an admin of both the Page and the Business Manager you wish to use to advertise with in order to integrate Facebook and Feathr.
