Before you can use Feathr to build and manage Facebook ad campaigns, you must integrate your Feathr and Facebook accounts so they are able to communicate data between each other. This is a simple process but requires a few essential pieces to be in place. This article will walk you through the process step by step. For Facebook campaign error troubleshooting, see this additional article.
Verify Admin Status & Payment Method
Before getting started, make sure the person completing the Facebook integration is an admin on the Feathr account as well as the Facebook page to be integrated. Only one person can perform this task in Feathr, so identify that person in advance and check that they have the correct role permissions in both platforms.
To do this in Feathr, log in to your Feathr account, then navigate to Profile & Settings in the bottom left menu, then to Account Settings, then locate Users in the left side sub-menu. From there, find the person you want to verify, and make sure the dropdown menu in the Role column says Admin. If not, use the dropdown menu to update that person's role. More about user roles in this help desk article.
To verify your admin status in Facebook, visit this article from Facebook's help center.
You will also need to make sure there is a payment method saved for your Facebook page, since that is how you will be billed for your campaigns' media spend. To check or add a payment method on Facebook, read this article from Facebook's help center.
Connect Ad Account to Business Manager
If your Facebook page is classified in Facebook as a business, it is necessary to connect individual Ad Accounts to that page's Business Manager tool in Facebook before integrating with Feathr. There are multiple ways to do this, so please refer to Facebook's official documentation in order to double check or complete this task.
Next, you can begin the integration.
Integration Steps
Log in to Feathr, then navigate to Profile & Settings in the bottom left menu. Select Facebook Integration.
Note: if you have a pop-up blocked enabled on your web browser, you will need to disable it before continuing. Several important steps in the integration process occur in pop-up windows, and you will get stuck if your pop-up blocker prevents you from seeing them.
When you log in, be sure it is to the account you verified as an admin in the section above.
When you have logged in, the next window will load, showing that Feathr Marketing is requesting access to manage ads in your Facebook Ad account. Click continue to grant access.
Once you've logged in to Facebook (or if you were already logged in), you will see a box on the page with a button labeled 'Connect to Facebook,' as well as a checkbox below it granting Feathr page and ads management access. Check this box, then click Connect to Facebook.
Note: this window has a link to display options for what you allow Feathr to access in your Facebook account, with slider buttons for individual options. If you disable any options, the Facebook integration will not work.
After you have completed these steps, the pop-up window will disappear and you will be returned to the Feathr page. Your Facebook user name, token expiration, and an Ad Account choice dropdown will now display. Use the dropdown menu to select the correct page to integrate with Feathr.
Next, click Verify Payment Method, which will check to make sure there is a valid payment method on file with that page. If there isn't, follow the steps in the article linked above.
Last, click 'Save ad account.' You will see a message highlighted in green that says your account is now ready to launch campaigns on Facebook. When you're ready to build a Facebook campaign, refer to this article for instructions.
