In this article, you will learn how to launch an Ad campaign in Feathr.
- Navigate to the Project where you want your campaign to be launched.
- Click '+Add Campaign' from the Campaign table or from a Flight.
- Select the Campaign type you'd like to launch.
Setting up the Campaign
Name:
Provide a descriptive name for your campaign so you can find it later. It helps to put the targets and goals, if any, of the campaign in the name; E.g., "Cart Abandoners - Registration".
The Advertiser option you see in this step only applies if you are running your campaign on behalf of another organization. For more on adding Advertisers, refer to this article.
Targets:
Targets are what make each campaign type unique. This step is how you determine the audience for each campaign.
Retargeting: Groups of your existing site traffic. You can choose from Groups you already built, or build them within the campaign. Include all Groups you want to see ads, and Exclude all that shouldn't. E.g., Include your Attendee Prospects and Exclude Registered Attendees. The same applies to Facebook Retargeting campaigns.
Email Mapping: A list of at least 2,500 email addresses, uploaded as a .csv file. Facebook Email Mapping is the same, but with a minimum requirement of only 2000 email addresses.
Search Keyword: A list of search terms and phrases, uploaded as a .csv file (no minimum or maximum).
Mobile Geofencing and Historical Geofencing: Locations selected on a map or a list of locations by longitude and latitude, uploaded as a .csv file.
Lookalike: An Audience Group of at least 30,000 unique people.
Custom Targeting: A third-party data set selected from the dropdown list.
Filters:
This step is optional, but we recommend including some geographic filtering for most campaigns, especially any that use third-party data (such as Lookalike, Email List or Search Keyword campaigns). You can filter by City, Region (State), and Country.
Creatives:
Creatives are the ads that will display in the campaign. Feathr accepts .jpeg, .png, .gif, and video files up to 200 MB as well as Adtag creatives. We recommend including the three most popular dimensions: 300x250 (Medium Rectangle), 160x600 (Wide Skyscraper) and 728x90 (Leaderboard). See full specifications here. At this step, you will also tell Feathr where ad clicks will direct (Destination URL). You will provide one for the campaign, or you can specify unique URLs for each creative. Alternative text is optional, but we encourage it. Learn more about Alt-text here.
Budget:
Now you will set the Start and End Date of the campaign, and Feathr will recommend a budget based on the length and your audience size. Verify or edit your Project's payment method. You can toggle in to Advanced Settings to view or adjust the preset Frequency Cap and Period and Base Bid.
Note: The minimum duration for all campaign types is 3 days. In addition, Geofence, Email List, and Search Keyword campaigns must be Published 5 days before the Start Date. Retargeting and Lookalike campaigns must be Published 1 day before the Start Date.
Conversion Tracking:
The conversion tracking step is optional, and how you will tell Feathr to count Conversions for your campaign. Typically, this is an activity that generates revenue for your organization (e.g., ticket purchase, sponsorship, membership). Choose either the Goal or Advanced modes. To use the Goal option, select or create a Group based on the Goal activity, and set a Goal Value that will be added to your campaign ROI every time someone completes the activity. To use the Advanced option, select or create a conversion pixel to track more complex activities and values. Learn more about each option here.
Review:
Finally, you will review the campaign details and Publish your campaign!
